Frequently asked questions
What are the most common questions people ask you about counseling or your practice?
Q. Do you see children as well as adults?
A. Yes, ages 6 and up.
Q. Do you take my insurance? If I don't want to use insurance do you take cash?
A. Currently Blue Cross Blue Shield and All Kids is accepted but please ask about others that are being considered. Cash pay is accepted for clients not having coverage or not wishing to file in surance claims.
Q. I had a bad experience with another therapy service or therapist and I am worried. How can I be sure it won't be the same thing here?
A. A negative therapy experience can be terrible for a client. Everyone deserves to have a therapist that will listen to their particular concerns, respect their lived experiences and provide comfort and safety in the therapeutic environment. Send me a message in the secure contact form and lets schedule a free consultation. Give me a chance to prove that finding the right therapist for you is the real key to a good experience in therapy.
Seeking counseling is just as normal as seeking any other type of healthcare when it is needed.
Clients do not have to have a mental illness to benefit from counseling. Most clients are simply looking for ways to best cope with difficult circumstances, troubling emotions or behaviors they want to change. Almost everyone has, or will experience, a period of struggle and adjustment where counseling could be beneficial.
What should a new client expect during their first visit?
A new client seeking a consultation in person can expect an office tour, gain answers to questions and receive an explanation of some of the ways therapy can alleviate symptoms or achieve goals.
